Legal Assistant Expert - English and Dutch in Elsene

As a high level Legal Assistant you will :

  • Work collaboratively with the rest of the legal assistant team to provide comprehensive personal assistant and administrative support.
  • Proactively manage and maintain fee earner diaries; coordinating meetings with internal and external clients, ensuring all work activities are scheduled effectively, including the identification and resolution of potential challenges.
  • Organise meetings, ensuring rooms and conference facilities are booked, liaising with attendees if necessary both internal and external and making sure that any required catering and technical equipment is in place.
  • Organise agendas, presentations and meeting papers, including print production and timely distribution.
  • Proactively engage with and assists fee earners regarding work requirements and encourages and supports all team members to utilise the team.
  • Communicate with fee earners to keep them appraised of a task’s status.
  • Ensure clear and concise record keeping relating to tasks undertaken and correct filing of tasks and supporting materials.
  • Client onboarding, setting up correct client master data of the recipient and other details that will show on the face of the invoice
  • Create, amend and reformat documents, where appropriate, ensuring that completed documents are delivered accurately to a high standard.
  • Arrange travel bookings, including visas, flights, taxis, accommodation, and rental cars.

Who we are looking for:

  • Candidates should have between 3 – 5 years of experience as a lawyer in employment law.
  • A Belgian Master’s degree in law and the ability to demonstrate solid academic records (magna cum laude). An LLM obtained abroad will be an advantage
  • Qualified to practice as a Lawyer in Belgium
  • Native Dutch speaker with an excellent or near-native command of English (both written and spoken). 
  • Excellent legal and technical language skills
  • High work standards with strong service orientation 
  • Excellent communication skills
