Bart's job is the ideal learning opportunity for him, both professionally and personally
Bart has been working as a Project Consultant since 2021
I am currently working through Bright Plus Outsourcing Solutions as a project consultant at Stihl, a pioneer in the field of garden tools. I work with about eight colleagues there, in the customer service department. Together we're responsible for optimal customer service, order entry, mail and phone traffic, (re)invoicing, inspecting delivery times, preparing quotations.... Or in other words, a very varied set of duties. In multiple languages, even, because we also have frequent contact with international partners in Germany and Luxembourg, among others.
Of course, sometimes a dissatisfied client comes on the line and then it's crucial to deal with this constructively as well, but that's part of the job and can certainly also be a good learning experience, both professionally and personally.
My skills as a customer service representative
I'm finding my feet on this project thanks to that variety and the fact that I get to work in a very pleasant team. Those are important aspects of the job for me. Of course, customer friendliness, clear communication and accuracy are also important requirements. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and that comes in handy in this job. Finally, with a varied set of duties like mine, being able to prioritise is no luxury either.
Why I love doing what I do
I've been working for Bright Plus Outsourcing Solutions for about a year and a half now, and I especially like the variety that a project-based job offers. I feel good about myself at Stihl and therefore don't mind the extension of my project here, but I want to experience that I can constantly learn and further develop myself. I find that I can expand my knowledge and experience, and that's a huge benefit. Not only in terms of hard skills and technical knowledge, but also my soft skills are steadily evolving. How I get along well with people, time management, my adaptability: these are just some of the qualities that I've been able to develop tremendously in a short period of time. Of course, sometimes a dissatisfied client comes on the line and then it's crucial to deal with this constructively as well, but that's part of the job and can certainly also be a good learning experience, both professionally and personally.
The fact that I'm very eager to learn has also put me in the right place within Bright Plus as a project consultant. The courses offered to me there are endless. They motivate me to continue developing myself. So in that sense, our values are completely on the same page. They also give me the opportunity to meet many new people which gives me satisfaction every day. Since I started this job, I not only go to work every day with a smile but I also return home with a smile.
